To use DJI Care, the aircraft must be recovered to be sent into DJI for replacement. For full DJI Care Enterprise terms of service and FAQ, please visit DJI.
Can i use this drone for other business as well?
Absolutely yes. It's one of the best commercially available thermal drones, and there are many other profitable niches you could explore. Solar panel inspections, roof inspections and more.
How does the Matrice 30T compare to cheaper drones like the Mavic 3T.
Full review video is in the works - but here's the short version. The Mavic 3T does fine in some situations, but there's plenty of scenarios where it struggles.
Two of the biggest drawbacks:
- 50x zoom instead of 200x zoom.
- Can't fly the Mavic 3T in weather - while the Matrice 30T can be flow in rain, snow & wind up to 50mph.
- Technically the same thermal specs, but the Mavic 3T has a smaller sensor size, so the image quality not the same as the Matrice 30T.
What is the flight time?
The specs will tell you 41 minutes, but swapping batteries every 30 minutes is typical. It's a good practice to land with at least 15% battery.
How much money will I be able to make doing recoveries?
It's a great question and one that is different for everyone. Here's some of the questions we'd ask to help you come to a conclusion.
- What's hunting like in your area?
- How many deer are harvested every year in the surrounding counties?
- Are dog trackers consistently busy?
- What are other drone pilots in your area charging?
- How willing are you to work nights and weekends?
How hard is it to learn to fly this drone?
Drones are the easiest aircraft to learn to fly. The Matrice 30T is armed with sensors on each side, so during daylight flying it will stop itself from flying into things it senses.
Unlike fixed-wing aircraft, when you let go of the controls, the drone will automatically come to a stop and hover in place - making it very easy to regain control.
We offer one-day training events to help beginners go from noobie to confident in a single day.
Do I need a license to fly this drone?
No - if you are flying for your own recreational use, you don't need any license. If you intend to offer a professional service to others, and generate cash, you need to get the Part 107 Commercial Drone License.
